A simple fact of life is that we resist pain and move toward pleasure. God created us this way, but sin has perverted our understanding and use of pleasure. Now we can learn how to control this powerful principle, so that we can constantly enjoy our union with the Creator of pleasure and flow in His “river of delights” (Psalm 36:8).
